UPDATE: OCTOBER 2019
Dear Classmate,
As we approach the final days to our reunion, I want to bring you up to date on the Class of 1964 Cruise Endowment Fund established through our Alumni Association, the Fort Schuyler Alumni Association, founded in 1903. The figures presented are as of September 27, 2019.
Since last fall, when we announced the goal of our 55th anniversary was to raise our existing endowment to $75,000, we have raised an additional $16,825 for the fund plus an unknow amount that was mistakenly deposited to the college's Foundation account by seven of our classmates. The total deposited into our FSMMA Class of 1964 Cruise Endowment Fund since we established the fund in 2013 is $68,518. A few classmates have contacted me saying that they were going to contribute and the "check is in the mail". Their donations are not included in the $68,518. The donations have come from 64 members of the class. A phenomenal response rate! Nearly a 60% participation rate!
With the addition of the "in the mail" donations noted above and others who have put donating on the back burner, I expect the total donations to the Class of 1964 Cruise Endowment Fund to be over $70,000 by Homecoming. If we add in the amount that was mistakenly deposited into the college's Foundation, we may reach our goal of $75,000.
In closing, I want to say a sincere THANK YOU to all those who have supported our class effort to recognize the unique element of our Fort Schuyler education and experience which contributed so much to the class bond we have had over the past 59 plus years, the "cruises".
Keep well and keep in touch.
Jose
PS If you have had your donation on the "back burner", by taking immediate action your donation can be included in the total announced at Homecoming.

UPDATE: JULY 2019
Dear Ed,
Happy and Prayerful Summertime Greetings, and Many Thanks for all that you and the committee are doing for the reunion, but even more importantly for keeping us all together as a community of life long friends. I will be very happy to celebrate the Sunday Mass at 8:AM for anyone wishing to attend. I will bring all the liturgical items, and presume The hotel can provide a table for an altar and the Chairs. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do. Gratefully, Jim Huvane. Dear Classmates:
I have not had many responses to a request for things for a "Journalette" for the reunion so Mary and I decided to do it online on the website. She has put the few stories or "happenings" from classmates on the website in the "2019 Journalette by Joy" section. So.......even if you don't plan to attend the reunion, if you are into something fun for your retirement years, have NEW contact information, new family members, a special event, a good story, a difficult period you have experienced or any updates that you would be willing to share with your classmates, even a family picture, email them to me so I can check you off!!! I will then get them to our web genius, Mary, for posting. The sooner the better!!! In the meantime, you MUST continue to check our website because Mary is always updating it and it is AWESOME. She is always looking for more memory type stuff from the "old days" for her "Just for Fun" section. She really makes it a fun experience. Steve Richter is also still looking for any pictures, slides, movies he can include in the dvd he is creating for us all to see at the reunion. We are getting closer so please don't put it off any longer!!!!! Best to all......hope to see you soon, Joy UPDATE: JUNE 2019

UPDATE: MARCH 2019
Hi Classmates,
Really good news!! Due to the great success of his DVD last year, Steve Richter has agreed to do another one for this year!! Once again, he is requesting your contributions to make this special again.... To quote Steve: "I am willing, able and good to go with creating a video. I think we all saw how much fun photos from back in the day were because of the great memories they allowed us to relive. The thanks I received after the viewing at our 50th made the time and effort all worthwhile so I am once again requesting lots of pictures, movies, anything...I need input. I urge everyone to snail mail (1574 Gadsden Place, The Villages, FL 32162) or email ([email protected]) hard copy, or soft copy (attach) photos, videos, etc., in any format. Slides, 8mm, super 8mm, hard copy, ( in most any condition - I am good at restoring). I will use and return any hard copy of back in the day stuff. The checking account is now open for registration of $175 per person and $350 per couple for the 55th reunion. No senior discounts allowed. Checks should be made out to "Maritime Reunion Class of 1964" and sent to Rick Kisling 9 Coloinial Drive Bethel, Ct. 06801 Deadline is August 31, 2019 as we have to give our final numbers and make our final payment to the hotel in mid September. Will probably have to send out this e-mail a few times before 8/31. Regards, Rick We are counting on the fact that all the submissions from last year tweaked those of you that DIDN'T SEND pictures to Steve, and the rest of you to send more. Let's give him some "stuff"!!
